The research
In plain sight

Our choices, the evidence and its limits.

Glycine3,000 mgA dose with human researchExplore the evidence

Yamadera and colleagues studied 3 g of glycine before bed in volunteers dissatisfied with their sleep. They reported improvements in subjective sleep quality and some laboratory measures of sleep onset.

ALPYNEX dose
3,000 mg per stick
Study dose
3,000 mg before bed

The limitation: this was a small, short study. It does not establish that everyone will benefit or demonstrate the effect of our combined formula. Several authors were affiliated with Ajinomoto.

Magnesium bisglycinate200 mgWhy we chose 200 mgExplore the evidence

We chose 200 mg of elemental magnesium to supplement dietary intake, considering digestive tolerability and the balance of the complete stick. This provides approximately 53% of the daily nutrient reference value.

250 mg elemental magnesium

A four-week randomized trial enrolled 155 adults reporting poor sleep. It found a small improvement in insomnia symptom scores versus placebo.

The limitation: the study used a higher dose than ALPYNEX and also supplied glycine through bisglycinate. It does not establish the same effect at our dose.

L-theanine200 mgThe findings in contextExplore the evidence

A randomized crossover trial in 30 adults tested 200 mg of L-theanine daily for four weeks. Some sleep questionnaire subscales improved compared with placebo.

ALPYNEX dose
200 mg per stick
Study dose
200 mg per day

The limitation: the overall sleep-quality score did not differ significantly between treatments. This was a small study using a specific L-theanine preparation, funded by Taiyo Kagaku.

The biology behind the researchThree pathways worth understanding
01

Temperature regulation

In animal studies, glycine increased heat loss and lowered core body temperature. This is a proposed pathway, not proof of the same effect in people taking ALPYNEX.

02

Neural signalling

Magnesium participates in nerve signalling, including regulation of NMDA receptors. That biological role alone does not establish that an extra dose improves sleep.

03

Stress response

A small human study tested L-theanine during an acute stress task. Some stress responses were reduced; this was not a trial of sleep or our finished formula.

A note from Thibault

Alpine nights
Swedish summers

I grew up skiing in the Swiss Alps. After long days in the cold, the nights felt different: quiet, deep, unhurried.

I still spend most summers on an island in Sweden, picking wild blueberries under a sky that barely gets dark. That’s where Midnight Blueberry comes from.

ALPYNEX brings a little of those places into an everyday ritual.

A few answers

Before your
first night

What is ALPYNEX?

ALPYNEX is a Swiss sleep brand built to make sleep science part of everyday life. We bring together clear education, practical habits and thoughtfully developed products. Our nightly drink is the first step in a bigger vision: helping you understand your sleep and build a routine that works for you. There’s more to come.

What does “Get Free Trial” mean?

It joins the free-trial launch waitlist for our first 100 spots. No card is required now, and joining places no order or subscription. We’ll confirm trial contents and terms before launch.

This page is an interactive prototype. Its form demonstrates the signup experience without sending or storing your email.

When do you launch?

Launch is planned for December 2026. The list will receive the confirmed date first.

Is a supplement the answer to bad sleep?

No. Nothing replaces the time and conditions you need for sleep. That’s why education and everyday habits are central to ALPYNEX.

Why no melatonin?

We chose a formula centred on glycine, magnesium and L-theanine. That is a formulation choice, not a claim that melatonin-free products work better.

What does it taste like?

Midnight Blueberry: our wild blueberry flavour, naturally sweetened. We’ll share the full ingredient list before launch.

How does the tin work?

The aluminium tin stores individually wrapped sticks. Subscribers receive it with their first delivery and keep it for refills, which arrive by post.
